Since assuming office in 2017, Shay Luedeke has dedicated himself to enhancing the services provided by the Tax Assessor-Collector’s office. His notable achievements during in his current term include:

  1. NemoQ Electronic Queue Management and Appointment System: Under Luedeke’s leadership, the office introduced the NemoQ electronic queue management and appointment system. This innovation has significantly reduced wait times, making it easier and more convenient for citizens to access services.
  2. Motor Vehicle Network (MVN) Monitors: Luedeke implemented the Motor Vehicle Network (MVN) on monitors in the office’s lobbies, ensuring that vital motor vehicle information is readily available to visitors. This has empowered citizens with up-to-date information during their transactions.
  3. Enhanced Signage: Recognizing the importance of clear communication, Luedeke added informative signage to the office’s lobbies. This initiative has been instrumental in providing answers to common transaction questions, improving the overall customer experience.
  4. Credit Card Vendor Change: To benefit Bell County residents, Luedeke made the strategic decision to change the credit card vendor. This not only lowered convenience fees but also introduced additional security measures through chip readers, safeguarding citizens’ financial information.
  5. Digital Outreach: Embracing the digital age, Luedeke established a presence on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. These platforms have become valuable tools for disseminating essential Tax Office information and fostering engagement with the community.
  6. Auto Dealer Integration: With an eye on efficiency, Luedeke is committed to expanding the participation of auto dealers in the state’s electronic title transaction portal. His goal is to have 100% of auto dealers on the system by July 1, 2025, simplifying transactions for Bell County auto dealers.

Beyond his local achievements, Shay Luedeke has made significant contributions at the state level:

He served as a Director on the Board of Directors of the Tax Assessor-Collector Association of Texas for four years and is poised to become the Association’s President in June 2024.

Luedeke’s leadership was instrumental as he served three legislative sessions as Vice Chair of the Legislative Committee for the Association, directly impacting motor vehicle registration policies across the state.

With six years of dedicated service as Vice Chair of the Technology Committee, Luedeke currently holds the position of Chair.

He was appointed to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicle’s Vehicle Titles and Registration Advisory Committee (VTRAC) and serves as 1st Vice Chair.
